Private Equity + new CEO ruined iCIMS

Pros

- There are no pros to working at iCIMS.

Cons

- CEO is only cares about money for himself and his exec friends (though he will erroneously preach that he cares about employees). In early COVID days he said that he values every single person at the company and then a week later fired over 100 people. His goal is to flip the company for an exit package just like he did with the company he was CEO at before iCIMS (check LinkedIn for short tenure there). - COO doesn’t care about employees - Director of Professional Services doesn’t care about employees The company was taken over by Private Equity and immediately went downhill. The good reviews that you see are left over from when the company was run by its original founder (2000-2018), and any recent ones are a result of the company forcing new hires to write a review after onboarding (their onboarding program is the only time the company will treat you well with the intent of you leaving a good review). As of April 2021, I have yet to meet ANYONE working at iCIMS that approves of the CEO or enjoys working there. Every employee is overworked, underpaid, and exhausted. The last two years have been an absolute disaster. As the new Private Equity-planted CEO took over, he started replacing tenured and competent execs and leaders with his friends from an old company he worked at, giving them compensation packages that tied to goals of selling the company. Not one of the CEO’s friends that were put in charge had any background in HR Tech or the Talent Acquisition space. Because they are all friends and have the same compensation structure, all exec actions are geared towards selling the company, but they deceive the employees by telling them their actions are in the name of growing a long term business. Having the secret goal of selling the company is why they are moving jobs offshore, replacing experienced Professional Service workers with college grads, gradually moving company offices to less expensive locations, and attempting to cut costs at every opportunity. It can’t be stressed enough that you should not work for iCIMS; this company is going nowhere and you will not be happy a single day after your onboarding.

Pros

None a professional employee would consider a Pro.

Cons

They give management 90 days to meet unrealistic goals. Then they let you go like you never existed. It is a revolving door and they are good at the bait and switch. The CEO is ramping up staff to sell the company. Don't be part of his scam!

Pros

The benefits are great and the teams are amazing. Steve is an amazing CEO

Cons

However, employee churn is insane here and there have been no changes at the top as the bottom continues to fall out from underneath them. Recent changes to how we support our customers as its now being purely based off of their ARR is sending shockwaves through our customers. The transition of talent is mind boggling, as now AM's are expected to act as CSMs with no access to the tools they need or knoweldge about the products. I am sure this is just a season, but come on iCIMS you are losing focus on what made you great! People, Processes, and Product. They must all be integrated and be seemless for true success. iCIMS has great people and product, but processes are broken and its hurting the business.
