You Better Love It

Pros

The biggest pro is that you'll be doing something you love. If you don't love it, you'd never take the job. Our local management was great with giving us autonomy, and the perks (like concert tickets) were amazing.

Cons

Pay. Unless you're the star host of a top rated morning show, you will be underpaid. And probably overworked. Possibly ignored.

Pros

Flexible work environment, friendly helpful co-workers, challenging work. The work is rewarding, especially when helping communities after disasters,.

Cons

No upwards mobility, no pay raises, layoffs yearly in December. Sales people are not valued unless in the top 1%. Radio business as a whole is declining, stock prices of iHeartMedia are typically below $5, and the company still has high debt.

Pros

You get a base salary

Cons

The base salary depending on your market is 50% of what you earned the year before. This could be lowered to 33%. The cut all of our commissions in half!! If you sell over a million, they lower your commission rates….
