Looks great from the outside at least...

Pros

At the cutting edge of the field, great PR towards the outside

Cons

Lowballing on pay, toxic environment where responsibility isn't clear, politics rule the day (favorites are shielded, others are let go for very little), high turnover even with upper management, fast-paced for it's own sake (trying to emulate software startups but with wet lab)

Pros

-Campus perks: free gym, meals -People: smart, motivated, helpful -Work life balance: 9-5 (or 10-4 for some) hours, company holidays, reasonable deadlines

Cons

-Lack of focus: dynamic and fast-moving... to the point where deliverables suffer -Lack of career development opportunities: no tuition reimbursement, formal mentoring. I do not feel pushed to develop new skills and grow into new roles and responsibilities. -It's a bit of a 'boys club' -Base pay and relocation/signing bonus are below market

Clueless

Pros

Great cafeteria, benefits, low workload.

Cons

Management is clueless about how drugs discovery works, forget applying AI to it. Most scientists have no idea what to do beyond surviving the quarter and their current manager. Proof? 7 years after founding, they barely have a pipeline, nothing in the clinic and "one" target discovered for ALS. One target after raising 800 million. Nepotism is rampant. You will see 30 y/o "associate directors" with no direct reports or management experience. AI/ML and biology work in complete silos. Good place if you want to just coast and take a pay-cheque. Bad place if you are serious about your career.
