Pros

Wonderful teammates who are smart and motivated, quite a few great lower managers, lots of PTO, adequate benefits. Honestly can't say enough good things about the people I work with directly and my current manager. The day-to-day job is decent. The product is interesting enough. For people who want to be in-office the office building is nice.

Cons

I get it. Corporate America will always do what it has to do for the bottom line, and workers can leave if they don't like it. We understand how the social contract works. The reviews saying that other people have it worse, or current employees posting negative reviews have never worked at a bad company, are focusing on the wrong things. Of course other people have it worse. Of course we're glad our office has windows. No it's not some horrible place to work (for most of us). Many of us have worked at much worse places and seen and dealt with much worse things. That doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't strive for the best workplace we can here, now. If that's not the nCino ideal I don't know what is. Trying for continuous improvement in how we do things doesn't mean that people are ungrateful or sheltered and it doesn't mean people are asking for a "startup" culture. We've just seen things eroding that really don't have to and that's not a slope anyone wants to be on. Happy employees make solid teams that deliver great products. People are on Glassdoor writing these reviews because they don't feel that they have any other avenue for feedback within the company. When feedback has rarely been asked for from employees, like whether folks wanted to work in-office or remote or hybrid, I've seen no evidence it's been considered for more than a second. Prime example is that employees seemed to mostly want hybrid and that was the word briefly and then an in-office mandate rolled out via recorded video so no one could respond. I see lower management looking like they've aged a year every time they have to deliver more disruptive changes to dev teams and try to support their reports even when they've hardly gotten advance notice or preparation themselves. and dev teams have to try to go with it because "agile". Senior employees are leaving who are critically missed for their deep organizational knowledge, again and again leaving for better pay and more flexibility. You go to look someone up and just see their account is deactivated. again. And again. The pandemic isn't over for everyone but there doesn't seem to be more than the most basic token attempt to protect employees who have real health concerns for themselves or their household members. Everyone needs to be back in the office everyday even if its not safe for them, even though the messaging previously was that employee and employee family health is important. It feels like management is getting too many layers deep and higher ups are far removed from people on the ground and don't care.

Not nearly as bad as some would have you believe

Pros

Good co-workers who understand what needs to be done and generally, get it done. Benefits package is excellent! Between insurance, 401k and stock purchase options, the benefits are the best I’ve ever experienced in my career. Office environment is excellent, even the ‘old’ building isn’t old. The workspaces are spacious, plenty of collaborative areas, break rooms on every floor, wellness rooms, parking garage (with EV charging stations), free snacks, free coffee, free drinks, happy hour on Friday…. Not to mention a brand-new building extension with plenty of green space outside for open-air lunches, ‘clear your head’, or team time. Extremely generous PTO plan, along with flex holidays and 2 volunteer days a year. Overall, great executive leadership who understand that every decision has an impact and are willing to ‘own’ their decisions.

Cons

All the recent ‘negative’ reviewers. Most of the negative reviewers have no idea how corporations work. They want to stay in the ‘startup’ and ‘cowboy’ days where everyone can do whatever they want. We are now a publicly owned company which means the rules must change, like it or not. Most everyone was also hired with an understanding that their job is an in-office job. The pandemic and the need for space resulted in all of us working from home and then transitioning to a ‘hybrid’ model. This was never intended to be a permanent situation. Therefore, the CEO has the absolute right to expect the original intention of folks being in the office. This is where that core value of ‘do the right thing’ is totally subjective. You may think the ‘right thing’ is to allow you to WFH, well the CEO thinks the ‘right thing’ is to be in office, and he wins. Extremely vocal, liberal, ‘woke’ contingent that always seem to be given a platform to push their agendas. That leaves those who don’t agree to feel stifled in being able to express their different beliefs, due to appearing to not respect those they may disagree with.

High turnover rate

Pros

Peers are nice to work with depending on what department you’re in.

Cons

Extremely low pay for the amount of work. Very high turn over rate. They treat you like a machine instead of a human being. Constant leadership changes. Educated people with a lot to offer are leaving quickly since nCino is becoming a sinking ship. Seems that leadership cares more about talking about their pronouns on company calls than they do their actual employees. News flash, without us, you wouldn’t have a paycheck or a company. They want to hire people straight out of college because they can pay them low. So we have a company full of young kids that have no idea what’s going on, and they feel like they deserve a medal for just showing up. The culture is nonexistent, it’s just a bunch of people that are wanting to keep a title and look important. The main individuals are the ones hunkered down doing all the work that actually care about the customers. This isn’t a place to stay long term, it is a short term solution until you find something better. Also, I agree with everyone else in terms of HR and leadership writing reviews and also having other vendors write fake reviews to boost the rating and keep them relevant. It might work for awhile, but soon everything comes crashing down.
