Pros

Good place if you're looking to work 40hours a week or less. It's a 9-5 job and you don't have to take your work home with you.

Cons

You don't get any recognition for the hard work that you put in. Some managers like to yell to try to intimidate their employees. No one likes a micro-manager.

Pros

ON Semiconductor has a stable job environment and is a large financially stable company. Diversification of ON's customer base allows for a balanced portfolio. There are challenging design opportunities that provide ample opportunities to grow as a design engineer. Management supports IP development and publications. Training is also provided when the business climate permits it.

Cons

It's all about the bottom line at ON. This sometimes leads to short sighted decisions that hurt long term performance. Growth in the company comes from acquisitions rather than organic growth. Salaries are decent, but do not keep up with the industry. Opportunities for bonuses are also limited and very subjective.
