Pros

Flexible schedule , no micromanaging, good and cheap cafeteria, free coffee. Covered parking, good coworkers, new gym, employee volunteer groups and activities.

Cons

No communication, flat organization, minimum women and young employees in management. Old workforce with old mentality. Old outdated installations, they don’t encourage change.

Pros

There are some experienced engineers in this group. (Even thought a few and they’re finding a way to leave)

Cons

I’m writing this to warn anyone looking at jobs in the Allen, Texas office for the Product Engineering group. I wish I had known what the culture was like before I joined. The biggest issue is the local leadership. It feels less like a professional team and more like a one-man show run by a dictator. The director here doesn't want to hear any feedback or new ideas. He only surrounds himself with people who agree with everything he says. If you try to speak up or suggest a better way to do things, you’re shut down immediately. Because the Allen office is so far from headquarters, this director gets away with things that upper management never sees. He is great at hiding the real problems in our group whenever the topic comes up in company meetings. It feels like he’s running his own separate company and just ignoring the rest of the organization. The environment is honestly pretty miserable. There is no sense of humor, no teamwork, and no support. It’s no surprise that we have a really high turnover rate, people leave as fast as they can because they get tired of being treated poorly. I’ve heard this isn't the first time this manager has had these kinds of issues at other big companies, and it’s a shame that HR hasn't stepped in to fix it yet. If you value your mental health and want a place where you can actually do your job without being micro-managed or belittled, I would suggest looking for a different team or a different company entirely. Don't let the company brand name fool you; the experience on the ground here is completely different.
