Pros

Friday beer time (bring your own and they let you drink from 3pm-ish). You could get a good balance between work and life.

Cons

Politics matters more that technical or engineering contributions. Couple of wrong VP's in the wrong places are crippling the company with politics. If your game is good engineering, they will take advantage of you and play you down. If your game is politics, you have a very good chance to be successful with little or no engineering effort. Executive managers are ignorant to these issues.

Pros

Intelligent and dedicated engineering team. Technology is top notch.

Cons

No work life balance. Engineering teams work 60-80 hours. Management changes directions often. Causes more work. As others have said, its who you know not what you know that determines success.

Pros

Technology and process is state of the art. R&D is full of talented Engineers who think out of the box. Peregrine's products have the potential to become world class IC's. There are a great bunch of people that make the work environment enjoyable.

Cons

Peregrine keeps making the same mistakes and doesn't seem to have the capacity to learn from their mistakes. There are no processes, clear job responsibilities, and the people who were to make these changes do not know how to implement the changes effectively. Very few people are held accountable for their actions and those that are, are usually the best performing in this chaotic environment. Peregrine knows how to drain their resources and provide a very volatile and reactive work environment. Management is not supportive, clueless and most managers wouldn't even be able to correctly train their employees. Peregrine often rewards their top performers with an over abundance of work to the point of being ineffective, no career plan or growth and bad reviews. A large number of employees have no idea how to o their job and no one can tell them and no one will help them. Job duties and requirements constantly change due to unpublished job roles, company goals, lack of communication and indifferent management.
