Pros

LEGO is very well respected brand and lots of people have a special connection with it, so the vast majority of people getting in touch with us are very friendly and just want to chat about their passion and are curious for what the future will bring.

Cons

You need to be able to respect people's fascination with all things LEGO. If you keep on thinking 'grow up, it's just a toy!', then this place is gonna get on your nerves after a while! As with any job in the UK, the salary is rather low.

Pros

Not very many! The possibility of making friends with co-workers.

Cons

Managers are rude, unhelpful, and condescending. They offer a very inflexible work schedule (I attempted to change my availability after acquiring a second job, but it was refused because the manager said that all shifts must be at least five hours in length, despite being told in the interview that the shifts would normally be about four hours). They pay low (minimum wage) but expect a lot. I was assigned tasks with extremely vague descriptions and the managers seemed annoyed and were rude when I asked them questions to clarify the instructions. They expected employees to figure everything out for themselves. They hire secret shoppers to evaluate employees performance, which is stressful! Very strict rules regarding employee appearance (i.e. They will not hire employees with facial piercings and/or unnatural colored hair. Employees are not allowed to wear any colored makeup or nail polish). The uniform policy is also very strict and they do not provide any compensation for the purchase of the specific uniform items that they require, such as all black shoes, a black belt (brown belts not allowed), and a black collared shirt. They do provide a bright yellow apron that is mandatory and looks stupid, not to mention irrelevant to the business.
