Pros

Well it took them 7 years to finally figure out that the Regional Headquarters “RHQ” adds no value. Just a bunch of people with big titles, big salaries and even bigger egos with no real authority. Closing the RHQ is the best decision the company has made in a long time. If you’re in an Operating Unit, the restructure really doesn’t effect you. You can keep your nose in your work and gain some good experience.

Cons

Over complicated matrix structure. Too many people involved with influence but no one knows who the real decision maker is. But I think they are working on this. This company is notorious for making big bang decisions with elaborate strategies and then changing course in a short time i.e. Alabama Steel Plant, HR Transformation.
