The theme for this year’s World Health Day is ‘My Health, My Right.’ Today is an opportunity to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to medical services, education and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination. We are committed to delivering rights-based services to all in the communities we serve, and we believe that no matter who you are, or where you are, you deserve timely, equitable and appropriate access to healthcare.

Meet Emma Percy, an AirMed pilot with a passion for helping others. Her career began with flight instructing, which allowed her to share her love of aviation and help her fellow peers achieve their goals. She views AirMed International as an environment where she can pursue her goals while making a lasting impact on people’s lives. Working alongside the flight crew and medical crew is Emma’s favorite part of her role. She enjoys interacting and learning from her incredibly skilled and helpful team members. As there are many critical aspects to a successful patient transport and completing a trip, she appreciates the consistent teamwork the job requires. Although Emma did not know her aviation career would involve EMS, she discovered an undeniable passion just after her first rotation on the job. She thrives in the intense, fast paced environment. Emma’s advice to future female aviators is to stay committed, passionate and have fun. She sees the aviation world as a wonderful community filled with endless opportunities and adventure. Emma demonstrates the passion and determination that defines our team at GMR. We are thankful to have her as a valuable member of our team. Meet Jordan Garner, a driven and dedicated pilot with a passion for helping others. From the beginning of her career with AirMed, her goal was to provide aid to those in need through aviation. Her role as a pilot allows her to follow her passion while serving her community. As a team member on the Hawker fleet, Jordan cherishes working alongside her amazing and supportive colleagues on the mission to provide care at a moment’s notice. She enjoys the challenges and adventures that come with her role. Although flying for an international air ambulance fleet was not part of her initial plan, Jordan is thankful for the many mentors and experiences that have led her to where she is today. She attributes her ability to face challenges and open-mindedness to new opportunities, to those individuals who helped guide her along the way. Jordan advises future colleagues to always stay curious and ask questions. She strongly encourages aspiring female aviators to find honest mentors who will stand by them throughout the journey. She believes one of the beautiful aspects of the industry are the various avenues and timeframes that exist to achieve a common goal. Jordan exemplifies the passion and courage that define our team at GMR. We are proud to have her as a valuable member of our GMR family. Meet Marjorie Muccie, a true veteran in the world of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), who has been with GMR for more than 25 years. Marjorie's journey into EMS began in a rather unexpected way. As a new Registered Nurse (RN) working in the Emergency Room, she was challenged by an EMS crew to do a ride-along and experience life from their perspective. That one ride-along turned into a lifelong passion. Marjorie loved the excitement and challenges that came with EMS and decided to pursue it wholeheartedly, enrolling in EMT school the very next semester. Throughout her extensive career, Marjorie has held various positions within the GMR family. Starting as a paramedic in Roswell, NM, she later transferred to Arlington, TX, taking on roles as a FTO (field training officer) and associate supervisor. Marjorie has also served as a clinical education specialist in Arlington, TX, and a clinical manager for multiple regions in Texas. Today, she currently serves as the national manager of the controlled substances programs with GMR. Marjorie attributes her success to the skills she acquired early in her career that continue to be her guiding principles today. Maintaining composure in times of stress, displaying empathy and compassion, and communicating effectively are the cornerstones of her success in EMS.
