With an extensive background in emergency medical services, Denise Treadwell, CRNP, MSN, CFRN, CEN, MBA and president of AirMed, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organization. Throughout her 20-year tenure, Denise has held several pivotal roles, showcasing her versatility and adaptability. Before becoming president of AirMed, she has served as a flight nurse, chief flight nurse, clinical coordinator, clinical manager, director of medical operations, VP administration, COO and executive VP. Among the many experiences she has encountered during her tenure, one particular call stands out vividly to Denise. In the early days of her career, she was involved in transporting a couple out of South Africa who had been involved in a harrowing car wreck while on their way to the airport. Her expertise and compassionate care played a vital role in ensuring their well-being during this challenging time. To those interested in a career in EMS with GMR, Denise offers valuable advice. She emphasizes the importance of never losing sight of the initial motivation for entering this field. Serving as a hallmark for those in need comes with great responsibility, as EMS professionals often witness individuals on their worst days. Susan “Sue” Williams has been a dedicated flight nurse for AirMed International since 2012. Sue’s expertise and commitment have been invaluable throughout her decade-long career with GMR. Sue has made a significant impact on our organization and on the lives of countless patients. Throughout her career, she’s flown to several countries and cities across the United States. Sue recalls a particular patient transport from Hawaii to the mainland that left a lasting impression on her. Accompanied by an exceptional respiratory therapist, Sue and her team flew to Hawaii, gathered necessary supplies and returned to the mainland within the same day, ensuring the patient had access to a treatment modality only available on the mainland. Time was of the essence, and their quick action provided the patient with a chance at the critical care they needed. Although Sue never learned about the patient's long-term outcome, the gratitude expressed by the accompanying spouse was a testament to the impact they had made that day. Sue's motivation and dedication comes from witnessing patients and families reunite after one of their toughest days and knowing she provided safe care and hope.
