After 73 years of marriage and a lifetime of caring for animals, Gordon and his wife Jean found companionship in Cora, a 3-year-old mini golden mountain doodle. Their visits are full of stories, belly rubs, and happiness—plus treats for Cora! 🐾💙

PEOPLE Magazine | PEOPLE.com recently shared the story by Abigail Adams of Dylan Goldberger, a former Camp Kangaroo attendee turned volunteer counselor. “I really wanted to give back to the kids the same way that they did that the counselors who helped me did," Goldberger told PEOPLE. Camp Kangaroo is a bereavement camp that provides a safe, healing space for kids who have experienced the death of a loved one. AccentCare VP of patient experience Yelena Zatulovsky explains, “[Campers] should have a safe space to express and then learn how to cope with some of those emotions.” Giving back is at the core of Camp Kangaroo, and we’re inspired when former campers return as counselors, offering support to others in their own meaningful way.
