As part of our Zero Accident campaign, we thought a collapsible car organizer would be a useful way to help keep items secure while traveling. With that in mind, ATL is pleased to offer this as our Spring 2026 first-quarter employee appreciation gift. As we head into Spring, we want to thank you for your hard work and strong commitment to safety—it truly makes a difference. Whether at work or at home, let’s continue to keep safety front and center in everything we do.
Haydn Johannessen, based out of ATL’s Watertown office, won the “Thank God it’s the Last Friday of the Month Contest (TGILF)”. He won a DEWALT 20V MAX 4-Tool Combo Kit. The contest originated from an idea that was placed on an ATL employee Idea Board to give away prizes to employees periodically. The TGILF contest was developed to give all employees a chance to win every month. Employees are encouraged to place ideas that will improve the company, their division, or position. Congratulations Haydn!
ATL was a proud sponsor of the 2026 Volunteer Transportation Center’s 27th Annual North Country Chili Cook-Off, held this past Saturday, March 14th 11:00AM – 3:00PM at the Dulles State Office Building in Watertown, NY. All proceeds benefit the Volunteer Transportation Center (VTC), a local non-profit organization which drives thousands of miles each year assisting community members in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties and beyond. Over the last 30 years, this essential non-profit organization has provided rides to health care appointments, food sources, and other critical needs destinations for residents. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with family, friends, and great food!
At ATL, employee ideas drive real impact—and even a little fun. Our monthly “Thank God It’s the Last Friday of the Month” (TGILF) contest, inspired by a team member’s suggestion, gives every employee the chance to win exciting prizes, like a recent KitchenAid mixer awarded to one of our Utica team members. It’s just one example of how we listen, recognize contributions, and create a workplace where every voice matters.
At ATL, we believe great workplaces are built on connection, collaboration, and a little fun along the way. This February, our offices embraced the winter season with team-led Chili Cook-Offs—bringing employees together to share favorite recipes, spark friendly competition, and strengthen relationships beyond day-to-day work. It’s moments like these that showcase our culture: we take pride in what we do, but we also invest in creating an environment where people feel connected, valued, and energized. If you’re looking for a workplace that balances high performance with genuine camaraderie, ATL is the place to build your career.
At ATL, our impact goes beyond the work we do. On the first Friday in February, our teams across all ATL offices proudly participated in Wear Red Friday, a national day of awareness supporting the American Heart Association and the fight against heart disease. By wearing red, our employees came together to raise awareness and show their commitment to heart health. When you join ATL, you’re joining a team that shows up for each other—and for what truly matters.
ATL is hiring for multiple positions across all 11 of our locations! If you’re interested in civil engineering, construction materials testing, inspection, environmental, or geotechnical work—and want to be part of a supportive and dynamic team of professionals—check out our openings and apply today!
Steve Moore, PE, Director of Materials Testing Services, and Aiden Laughman, Project Engineer at ATL, attended the Clarkson Construction Mixer on Tuesday, September 16th, and the Career Fair: Professional Societies Mixer on Wednesday, September 17th, ahead of the Clarkson University Career Fair. Both events provided ATL with valuable opportunities to engage with Clarkson students and support them in developing their professional networking skills. As Clarkson alumni, Steve and Aiden shared their experiences and demonstrated the career paths possible with ATL, helping students take the next step toward their future goals.
ATL is excited to announce the acquisition of Briggs Engineering & Testing by ATL’s parent company, Phenna Group. ATL became a Phenna Group Company in April 2025. The services provided by Briggs’ multidisciplinary team complement and, in many ways, mirror those offered by ATL. Briggs is a respected firm in the New England region with offices in Rockland, MA and Cumberland, RI. As a diverse collection of over 70 independent businesses specializing in independent Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance (TICC) serving a variety of sectors. Phenna Group operates globally with over 6,800 employees who support client needs by delivering mission-critical services focusing on quality and deliverability. As part of Phenna, ATL and Briggs will continue their mission to provide quality services with a commitment to integrity, safety, and value to an expanding client base. We look forward to seeing this growth opportunity take shape and lead to further success!
ATL is proud to sponsor RIT’s Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge teams—student-led groups of innovative engineering minds from across campus. Each year, these teams design, build, and test impressive large-scale structures, from a 20-foot steel bridge capable of holding thousands of pounds to a concrete canoe that floats and competes! Our support helps them create, compete, and inspire the next generation of engineers. Their hard work and talent have earned them a well-deserved spot at the 2025 National Competition—congratulations! Each year, ATL partners with RIT Career Services to provide opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in engineering, construction materials testing, and related fields. These students work alongside our team on various projects, building valuable skills for their future careers. We’re proud to have many RIT alumni as valued members of the ATL family.
