As we continue preparing for RMC Health System to join Orlando Health's Alabama Region and Baptist Health, we are pleased to share an important milestone in that journey. When the acquisition closes this fall, Regional Medical Center Anniston will become Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital. New signage will be installed on day one to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the hospital and the region. The new name reflects the hospitalβs strong connection to the community and its place within Baptist Health's growing, integrated system of care. We look forward to introducing Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital and building upon RMCβs longstanding commitment of dedicated care for patients, families and communities across Calhoun County and beyond.

Investing in the future starts with inspiring the next generation. π« Baptist Health Princeton Hospital President Daniel Listi and team members Casey Hinton and Jylon Jones were on hand to celebrate the opening of the JA McWane Economic Education Center. Operated by Junior Achievement of Alabama, the 30,000-square-foot facility is designed to give students hands-on financial literacy, career readiness and real-world learning experiences that connect classroom lessons to future opportunities. The center will feature a Baptist Health storefront in the simulated city JA BizTown where students can learn about innovations in health care and explore career opportunities in the industry. π₯

Recently, our team at Baptist Health Shelby Hospital celebrated the exciting expansion of Shelbyβs HBO Wound Care Program. π₯³ This program helps individuals with chronic wounds heal, using advanced treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The hyperbaric chamber delivers concentrated oxygen to promote faster, more effective healing for difficult wounds. The event featured Chaplain David Peacock, Stacy Phillips (Wound Care and Hyperbaric Program Coordinator), and Dr. Everitt Simmons, MD. With increased capacity, weβre now able to better serve Alabaster and the surrounding community!
Birmingham City Councilor Crystal Smitherman joined Baptist Health Princeton Hospital team members for the rededication ceremony of the Princeton Healing Gardens next to Princeton Towers. Originally built in 2005, the space stands as a symbol of renewal, wellness and community pride. Our Baptist Health Shelby Hospital team was proud to take part in Alabaster Goes Red, presented by God Did It Ministries! This inspiring event raised stroke awareness and brought together survivors and families who have lost loved ones to stroke. Our team members spent two hours at the event, highlighting the importance of BEFAST, handing out swag, and providing educational materials. β€οΈπ
π π Baptist Health Walker Hospital was on hand to provide first aid and cheer runners on at the second annual Hometown Heroes 5K Fun Run, supporting Youth Leadership Walker County. Team members also recently provided CPR and AED training to the Jasper Police Department, brushing up on the latest first aid best practices. π§° π©Ή
Baptist Health Citizens Hospital team members enjoyed games, music and more at the 50th annual Sunshine Saturday in Talladega, helping raise funds for The ARC of North Talladega County and the work they do to support adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
