New US Company Holidays At Bread Financial, we want our associates to feel valued and cared for! We continually assess the market, gather associate feedback, and make changes to help ensure our compensation, benefits, resources, and policies are competitive and offer the flexibility our associates need to be their best. We are pleased to announce that we are adding two (2) additional company holidays, Columbus Day and Juneteenth, making Bread Financial’s holiday schedule consistent with the current federal holidays observed and in-line with our financial services peers. US associates will have a paid holiday on Columbus Day (beginning 2022) and Juneteenth (beginning 2023) bringing the total number of annual paid holidays to 11!!
Work Environment Flexibility: Those associates who choose a "hybrid schedule" usually come into the office one to two times per week, at their choosing. Our office environment is a modern gathering space for teams or colleagues who are looking to reconnect in person, or to just grab some Starbucks coffee at our cafe. We offer a fitness center, meeting spaces, and 100% renewable (clean) energy. The hybrid model works for our organization, because we’re meeting our associates where they are. We understand there are associates who want to work in an office environment, and we want to support that need, but give them the flexibility to make that choice. We look to our values to guide us in our cultural expectations, and ensure we’re connecting with each other in other ways including volunteering as a team, our annual giving campaign, and our fireside chats to name a few. We also ensure our senior leaders are continually holding open forums, town halls, and holiday celebrations, all done virtually!
As we continue to operate in this hyper-competitive and rapidly evolving business environment, we want to ensure we are creating the right flexibility and balance for our associates. Over 70% of our workforce is fully remote, with 20% working a hybrid schedule. Our goal is to support our associates in their choice of the working environment is best for them, but more importantly, we want their career to fit into the life they desire. We do this by providing them with the support they need to be successful outside the traditional office. Things like a work-at-home stipend and flexible working hours. But being productive at work isn’t the only important aspect, staying healthy mentally and physically is just as important to us. We provide mental health access for the associate and their family members, along with fitness reimbursement, and other lifestyle options. Providing these resources to associates ensures they feel supported in all aspects of their life.
Adapting to our Associates' Physical + Mental Health Needs: We pride ourselves on being dialed in to the unique (and ever changing) stressors that our associates are experiencing. Recognizing that personal finances are a top stressor for our associates, we implemented an employer-sponsored, holistic financial wellness platform that offers goals-based financial planning and unlimited access to free fiduciary-level advisors. The pandemic also reinforced the need for Bread Financial to move beyond the traditional Employee Assistance Program (EAP). In 2022, we launched a new and vastly more robust, personalized mental health solution at no cost to associates and their family members in order to help them get better, faster.
Investing in Associate Well-being: Through LivingWell—our award-winning holistic wellbeing program—Bread Financial offers a range of programming and resources aimed at empowering associates to eat smart, move more, focus on self-care, and live well at work. We are hyper focused on the associate experience, offering low to no cost solutions that meet people wherever they are on their wellness journey. Examples include on-demand stress management resources, discounted WW (weight loss solution) memberships, annual $300 fitness reimbursement, movement challenges, virtual fitness classes and cooking demos, financial education workshops, support for new parents, and more.
