Shamima, our Janice Hill Award winner from Division 2, has been with Bright Horizons for 25 years! Shamima says "growing up in a big family made working with children second nature and it is her true passion." Shamima is a dedicated teacher who takes the time to encourage and help the children in her care. One student, who is now 15, fondly remembers Shamima for helping him overcome physical delays and do the one thing he wanted more than anything, learn how to jump. Another family who had a child in her class stated, "Shamima is a teacher that every child should be able to experience." We are so lucky to have you as part of the Bright Horizons family, Shamima! Each year Bright Horizons honors teachers and educators in each division with the Janice Hill award. The Janice Hill award is given in honor of Janice Hill, a dedicated teacher with Bright Horizons who sadly lost her battle with cancer. Each winner of the award is recognized for their dedication to the field of Early Childhood Education as well as the relationships they have with their colleagues and their center families. Samantha is our 2019 Janice Hill Winner from Division 1. Samantha grew up watching her mom educate and care for young children, which inspired Samantha to dedicate her own career to caring for young children. According to her co-workers, Samantha consistently goes above and beyond, is dependable, and makes everyone smile. We cannot be more proud to have you as part of our Bright Horizons family, Samantha! Each year, the Bright Futures Scholarship Program supports the field of early childhood education by offering scholarships for future teachers. At Bright Horizons®, it is our hope that these awards enable students of great promise to continue pursuing their dreams of caring for, teaching, and inspiring young children. Scholarships are awarded to students across the country in the early childhood or related field who are focusing on the education of children ages six and under.
