Every year, the United States observes Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 through October 15. The theme of this year’s month is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” a sentiment that reflects the trailblazing spirit of so many Hispanic Americans. Unlike most months of recognition that begin on the 1st, Hispanic Heritage Month starts on the 15th because there are several different Latin American countries that celebrate their Independence Day around this time. For instance, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua all declared their independence from Spain on September 15, 1821. Mexico and Chile did the same on September 16 and 18, 1810, respectively. Additionally, Belize claimed independence on September 21, 1981, from Great Britain. During Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the culture of Latino and Hispanic communities all throughout the United States. We recognize their unique heritage and story, and the many valuable contributions those groups have made to our society and culture. CJ Logistics America appreciates the many Hispanic and Latin American employees throughout our network who play a large part in making our company the best in the supply chain industry. Thank you all for your contributions.

The United Nations has marked 7/30 as World Day Against Trafficking in Persons – an incredibly important event given the prevalence of this horrific practice & its devastating effects around the globe. Millions of people are victims of trafficking every single year worldwide, particularly those who are members of underprivileged & at-risk groups. “Everyone—whether you’re a frontline transportation worker or a member of the general public—has a role to play in detecting & preventing human trafficking,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “As we recognize UN World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we have an opportunity to further educate the traveling public on how to recognize & report suspected human trafficking & combat these sinister crimes.” CJ Logistics (CJL) believes in leveraging our extensive reach & resources for the greater good. As part of our unwavering commitment to safety, we have been proud to partner with Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) since 2022 to train our drivers in recognizing & reporting signs of human trafficking. “Every day, CJL drivers are on the front lines, traveling the nation’s highways & roads. By equipping them with TAT’s comprehensive training, we empower them to be vigilant & proactive in the fight against this heinous crime,” said Doug Smith, CJL Transportation GGM. “Our drivers are trained to identify potential trafficking situation, understand the proper protocols or reporting, & play a crucial role in rescuing."
Every July, CJ Logistics America joins the rest of the United States in celebrating Disability Pride Month. This month is intended to promote awareness of those who are living with disabilities all over the world. Approximately 15% of the entire global population, one billion people, have a disability. The origin of this month stems from July 26, which marks National Disability Independence Day in the United States. On that day in 1990, President George H. W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law. This landmark legislation prevents any type of discrimination based on disability and, very importantly, requires businesses to provide accommodations to employees with disabilities and ensures public spaces can be accessible to everyone. At CJ Logistics America, we believe our world is better when diverse peoples and cultures come together to understand each other’s experiences and perspectives. We stand with our team members and all those who share in that vision of global community and diversity. We unite with compassion and truth to embrace diversity, uphold equality and collaborate to build a better future. We thank all of our team members for coming together in the spirit of Integrity, Passion, Creativity and Respect, day in and day out.
