We were thrilled to celebrate all of our Top Dogs at Dog Days of Summer this year! We're so grateful for the time our facility and volunteer therapy dogs and their handlers give to our patients, their families and our team members. This year’s theme of Top Dog was a hit, complete with games, prizes and treats with an aviation twist!
Best friends Davi and Samantha became friends after meeting at our Dallas campus. They are regular guests at our Seacrest Studios and host shows together whenever they can! We love the bond they've formed and how they support each other! ♥️ #FriendshipDay
Our Child Life team hosted their Teddy Bear Clinic yesterday which helps patients feel more comfortable at the hospital. Patients walk with their teddy bear through treatments similar to their own like triage, radiology, X-ray and surgery. All the teddy bears left feeling happy and healthy! Thank you to our Child Life team for creating this valuable experience for our patients.
It's important to be careful when training in the summer heat. CBS DFW spoke with Jacob Rivera, Performance Manager, and Gabbie Ricky, Exos Performance Dietitian, at our Children’s Health Andrews Institute about safe training during the summer. Watch for tips on hydration, heat index and nutrition during these hot summer days.
Recently the NFL Players Choir stopped by our Seacrest Studios to perform for our patients in between their shows on America's Got Talent! Thanks for bringing fun and encouragement to our patients! Visits like these provide entertainment to our patients who visit the studio, and those who watch from their room.
Looking for a tasty piece of motivation? Check out how creative our nephrology and dialysis team members are! Our care teams work carefully with each patient to set healthy nutrition goals. For every goal met, the patient gets to serve a staff member of their choice a face full of pie. 🥧 Comment below to encourage our strong patients!
We're excited to announce the grand opening of our expanded courtyard at our Dallas campus! This area provides a relaxing space for our patients and their families, complete with an all-abilities playground on 17,000 square feet of outdoor green space. With this addition, we hope the support felt inside our campus extends outside our walls.
We're grateful to have received an extremely generous donation from Children's Cancer Fund to help us continue to meet the needs of our patients as they battle cancer. We're thankful for the continued support which allows us to improve treatment and care for children in North Texas and beyond.
We're incredibly proud to once again be the only hospital in North Texas ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties by U.S News And World Report for the fifth consecutive year. Our sixty-year affiliation with UT Southwestern Medical Center and legacy of excellence in pediatrics deliver an unmatched level of care and a brighter, healthier future for every child in North Texas and beyond. Congratulations to all our health care heroes!
Our #LevelIVNICU team loves teaching the importance of Kangaroo Care to our patient families. This method of holding a premature baby skin-to-skin benefits not only the baby, but the parent as well. They recently hosted a Kangaroo-A-Thon to encourage parents to log as many hours of kangaroo holding as possible. Your baby knows your scent, touch and the rhythms of your speech and breathing.
