Openness, acceptance and individual authenticity is nourished by our team members—and empowers them to impact the needs of our communities. Our Nutrition, Foundation, D&I and employee resource groups brought their broadminded thinking to an important virtual discussion: Racial Disparities in Food Access. Interested in using your broadmindedness to help make positive progress with #Feeding America and its network of 200 food banks? Learn more about how:
In January, we announced our goal to make 100 percent of our plastic packaging renewable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. We’re proud to share that updates to our Healthy Choice, Hungry-Man and P.F. Chang's Home Menu food packaging will help us decrease our carbon footprint by 34,117 metric tons. Learn more about our work with Footprint to transition these product lines to plant-based fiber packaging.
Conagra Brands extends its deepest sympathies to all who have been impacted by the coronavirus, COVID-19. Recently we have seen extraordinary actions taken by countries, cities, communities and organizations across the globe to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a leading food company, Conagra Brands is an essential business and is uniquely positioned to have a positive impact in our communities and on the well-being of those around us. A walk around your local supermarket shows the concern people are experiencing and the important role food plays during this pandemic. Now more than ever, we are determined to keep our employees safe as we make great products that meet the needs of our consumers and communities. Conagra Brands thanks all of its employees who continue to produce much-needed food for consumers during this unprecedented time.
Our environmental and social initiatives are linked to every part of our business. Take a look at our latest Citizenship Update Report to learn more about our commitment to being a strong corporate citizen—and how we’re continuing to make progress in our four focus areas.
Our communities are top-of-mind, making our work with the United Way of Metro Chicago meaningful to our teams. We presented a donation that will help provide stability and resources to neighborhoods in the greater Chicago area. Thank you to each Conagra Brands employee who was active in our 2019 fundraising campaign, leading us to achieve 126% of our goal.
We’re inspired to give back and make a broad impact—and especially proud of our community investment efforts in the places where we live and work. Thank you to our 70+ team members who cooked over 1,500 meals across six Omaha and Council Bluffs community shelters.
We’re working with SolAmerica to place eight acres of solar panels on our St. Elmo, IL facility property, a two megawatt system which will generate enough power to produce approximately 35% of all our Wish-bone salad dressings—as well as Log Cabin and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrups—at the facility. Construction will begin in the winter and is set to be completed in spring 2020. This project is one piece of Conagra Brands’ exploration of renewable energy technologies for our facilities.
