Our 120th Anniversary F&M Trust has served Central Pennsylvania for 120 years, growing from its 1906 founding into the largest locally owned and managed community bank headquartered in Franklin County. Established by local business and civic leaders to expand financial services, the bank opened its first office in 1906 and moved its headquarters to 20 South Main Street in 1918. It endured the Stock Market Crash and Great Depression, later becoming one of the first banks to join the FDIC in 1933. Through the decades, F&M Trust has led with innovation—launching an employee retirement fund in 1952, opening Franklin County’s first drive‑up window, expanding community offices through the 1950s–70s, installing ATMs in 1983, forming its holding company in 1987, and entering Cumberland County and the Capital Region in 1996. Growth continued with the 2006 acquisition of Fulton County National Bank, a Nasdaq listing in 2019, and new offices in Harrisburg, Hagerstown, and Dauphin County. In 2022, the bank opened its 67,000‑square‑foot corporate headquarters on Nitterhouse Drive. F&M Trust has embraced digital banking, launching online services in 2001, a mobile app in 2012, and the region’s first .BANK website in 2018. The bank remains deeply community‑focused, contributing thousands of volunteer hours and more than $500,000 annually to local organizations. Leadership credits the bank’s success to innovation, dedicated employees, and its ongoing commitment to customers and community.

Celebrating Our Team! We’re proud to highlight Elijah Blauch, our Marketing Coordinator for the Greater Capital Region, who recently had the opportunity to participate as a “Mucker” in the Friends of the PA Farm Show’s Feed Scurry event at the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show. Elijah shared that it was “an amazing opportunity to meet new people, try something unique, and experience the energy of the Farm Show in a whole new way.” His team placed 9th out of 34, and he’s already aiming even higher for next year! At F&M Trust, we love seeing our employees get involved in the communities we serve—whether professionally or personally. More than 250 employees of F&M Trust recently spent an afternoon in Carlisle assembling “Comfort Buddies” for first responders to assist children in need. During the event, F&M Trust employees assembled and decorated more than 300 plush animals. Each “Comfort Buddy” was outfitted with a custom-designed t-shirt featuring a personalized inspirational message, crafted to offer encouragement and comfort. The completed Comfort Buddies will be donated to several local police and fire departments, including the Waynesboro Police Department, Chambersburg Fire and Police Departments, Carlisle Police Department, West Shore Regional Police Department, Lower Paxton Police Department, Hampden Township Police Department, and Swatara Police Department. These donations aim to support first responders in their efforts to assist children facing difficult circumstances, providing them with a tangible source of comfort during challenging times. This event marked the bank’s annual observance of Banktoberfest, which since its inception in 2016, has emphasized team building, exceeding expectations and community service. Previous events included projects that contributed to environmental conservation efforts, benefiting area food pantries, providing essentials for local at-risk veterans and supporting youth foster care agencies. F&M Trust partnered with Impact 4 Good, an organization that specializes in charitable team-building activities, to facilitate the event.

The celebration took place at the Grant Street Loft in Chambersburg, PA, where attendees enjoyed a wonderful dinner and shared stories reflecting on their experiences and growth throughout their careers at F&M Trust. These moments highlighted the strong culture of commitment and community that defines our organization. We’re proud to recognize and celebrate the loyalty and contributions of our long-tenured employees—they are the foundation of our success!

Originally opened in the early 20th century, the Fulton Theatre has long been a centerpiece of downtown McConnellsburg—a place where generations have gathered for movies, performances, and shared experiences. While the theatre is no longer operating as a commercial cinema, the building itself still stands as a symbol of the borough’s rich past. Supporting Our Community As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, F&M Trust is pleased to offer the opportunity for local nonprofit and community organizations to use the space for approved events or gatherings. Whether it’s a small educational program, a community meeting, or a cultural presentation, we welcome creative ideas that bring people together. All usage is subject to an approval process to ensure the space is used responsibly and continues to serve the public good. Fulton Theatre
F&M Trust recently donated $6,000 to the United Way of Franklin County to support the organization’s work in the community. Amy Hicks, Executive Director, and Kelly Frazer, Community Engagement Officer, accept the check from F&M Trust Vice President and Deposit Operations Manager Jordan Peffer, Vice President and Retail Market Manager Summer Franzoni, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Chad Carroll. Carroll is a member of the United Way of Franklin County’s Board of Directors.
F&M Trust Donates to United Way of Franklin County
F&M Trust is pleased to announce the hiring of Craig Best as President. In this role, Best will oversee the bank’s efforts to grow market share, while ensuring a shared focus to maintaining the bank’s culture, building strong communities, and connecting customers with financial solutions. He succeeds Tim Henry, President and CEO, who successfully led the bank for nine years and will officially retire on April 29, 2025. “The bank is fortunate to have had stable and talented leadership for many years. Tim Henry is certainly an example of that, and we wish him well as he moves to a new chapter of his life,” said G. Warren Elliott, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Franklin Financial Services Corporation and F&M Trust. “Looking ahead, we welcome Craig Best to carry on that tradition of providing visionary leadership as we maintain our commitment to the F&M Trust communities, employees and shareholders. We expect Craig’s extensive banking and financial background will provide the platform to launch the bank into a new era of solid performance and results for the future.”
