What a tree-mendous day in Guelph! This past Saturday, 275 volunteers including staff from #TeamGEI’s Guelph, Ontario, office came together and collected more than 3,600 Christmas trees in Guelph’s annual Trees for Tots program. Funds raised through this community-driven event provide for the well-being of children and youth through #foodsecurity, mental health, access to recreation and life-skill activities, education, and holiday support. Collected trees are chipped and returned to nature through local walking trails and other community projects. This year’s event raised $85,000! Several GEI staff and family members worked on the 4 teams collecting trees, including Steve Conway, Andrew Beck, Lucas deHaan, Katherine Smyth, Joanna Olesiuk, Grant Parkinson, and Laura Verhaeghe, P.Eng. Thank you for taking care of the environment and giving back to youth in the community!
