And with a staggering 47% of workers polled in a recent survey saying they would likely leave their jobs if a hybrid work model weren't offered, change is here to stay. 🏢🏠 At Gannett Fleming, we know that our work environment will look different than it did in the past. Read our latest Careers blog to learn more about what our next “normal” will look like, including our transition to hybrid work models and how we're staying committed to our values!
This year's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and more (LGBTQ+) Pride Month 🌈 marked the launch of our LGBTQ+ of Gannett Fleming employee resource group (ERG), and we’re proud of our own Heather Wilkie for her hand in making this happen. As the new chair of this ERG’s steering committee, she wants employees to feel comfortable bringing their complete selves to work and to be open and accepting of their colleagues. In addition to championing the LGBTQ+ ERG, Heather serves as an associate business analyst for GeoDecisions, a division of Gannett Fleming. With an eye for user experience, she tests GeoDecisions’ applications and works with clients to understand their needs, from requirements gathering through implementation. She is also a passionate graphic designer, photographer, and animal lover. We asked Heather a few questions to get to know her. Check it out!
Our Pride Month celebrations continue with our next Lift Every Voice video! Every June, the U.S. observes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and more (LGBTQ+) Pride Month to honor the 1969 Stonewall uprising in Manhattan, New York, which occurred when patrons of the Stonewall Inn rose up to resist the police harassment, persecution, and discrimination to which LGBTQ+ Americans were commonly subjected. Today, we celebrate the impact that LGBTQ+ individuals have had on history around the world, and we work to achieve equal justice and opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community. We’re also proud to officially launch our newest employee resource group, LGBTQ+ of Gannett Fleming! 🌈⚧️ Watch the full video below and click to read the Q&A: https://bit.ly/3x6EH3A Thank you to our employees for sharing their perspectives!

Logical, mathematically inclined, and analytical. These are some words that might come to mind when one thinks of an engineer. But for Nelson Mora, you’d have to include: artistic, personable, and empathetic, too. The University of Florida graduate started his career at Gannett Fleming 12 years ago in roadway design. Since then, he’s shifted toward transportation planning and now oversees all staff, pursuits, and project delivery related to planning projects in Florida. “The engineering curriculum doesn’t teach you people skills,” Nelson added. But he knows that relating to people by communicating effectively is one of the most important aspects of his job. “I try to humanize our transportation projects through thoughtful verbal and visual communication and plenty of listening.” We asked Nelson a few questions to get to know him.
