Today our CEO Sonia Syngal was selected to join California Governor Gavin Newsom's Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery. Gap Inc. remains committed to working with our suppliers to transition from cash payments to digital wages by 2020, and we’re proud to be members of the Better Than Cash Alliance. This week at the #DigitalWagesSummit the Alliance called on other companies in the industry to digitize payments for garment workers in Bangladesh. Using digital payments to compensate workers around the world improves the efficiency of factories, but more importantly, it empowers thousands of women, giving them greater control of their money offering them a safer more transparent way to receive their payment and bringing them into the formal banking system.
