Applications for the current school year of the new tuition-free, public charter school in Louisiana will only be accepted through September 22, 2023.

Jonathan Pageau will be a keynote speaker at The National Symposium for Classical Education this year. The Symposium, made possible by the Great Hearts Institute, is the leading conference of scholars and K-12 educators dedicated to enriching our understanding of classical education and building a world-class network of professionals from within the classical movement. Pageau is a French Canadian liturgical artist, icon carver, writer, and public speaker. With a YouTube following of 191K, he has become a sought-out interpreter of the deep patterns in stories. His podcast entitled The Symbolic World features, in both English and French, Jonathan’s interpretations and conversations with other artists, thinkers and culture champions who are interested in restoring a collective respect for and use of these patterns as the very stuff of the cosmos.

Stuart Coles is the music teacher for Great Hearts Harveston, the first Great Hearts academy to open its doors in Louisiana, serving grades K-7 in Baton Rouge. “I enjoy sharing my love for music and helping students realize that everyone is capable of being a musician,” said Coles. Since moving to Louisiana from Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he grew up, he has been soaking up the unique musical culture of the south as a professional New Orleans jazz musician.

CJ Geraci brings an impressive science background with her to Great Hearts Harveston. Among her many accomplishments, she was a Smithsonian Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Museum of Natural History, an AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the National Science Foundation, and served as an Assistant Professor at the American University of Iraq-Sulaimani.
