We started the new year off with a home run and celebrated the grand opening of our newest dealership today! Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson opened our newest Hendrick Automotive Group location: Reggie Jackson Airport Honda at 9530 Lumley Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. Situated on more than 19 acres of land, the two-story, 75,000-square-foot dealership features indoor showrooms for new and pre-owned vehicles; 48 bays for service and detailing; and a unique game room for customer entertainment. “Rick (Hendrick) has been an incredibly supportive friend for nearly 30 years,” Jackson said. “We’ve worked together on community service events and long shared a deep love of classic cars, so I could not be more grateful to partner with him to help operate this new dealership. Raleigh is a growing area with a tremendous customer base loyal to the Honda brand. The dealership has the best of everything facility-wise, and it is centrally located to a lot of economic activity. It’s a home run!

Before strapping in for the first #NASCAR race weekend at Circuit of the Americas, Kyle Larson helped us host the first in-person Hendrick, Get Set. Go! event to invest in STEM education. The program is a collaboration with Hendrick Motorsports to use the excitement of racing to bring more students to the STEM starting line. Local Auto Tech students in Austin, TX got to test their go-kart skills against the NASCAR driver and meet leaders from our two Austin dealerships to learn about careers. The day was a true celebration, ending with the presentation of a $10,000 Hendrick, Get Set. Go! award to fund a future STEM project at their school. More than 20,000 lbs. of emergency supplies were loaded onto Hendrick jets and delivered to our teammates in Texas this weekend, thanks to the compassion and team work of employees across the country. When we heard of the historic winter storm and devastating after effects, Mr. Hendrick reached out to our general managers in Texas to check on our people and let them know that help was on the way. Multiple deliveries of water, food, power generators and personal care items were organized and distributed to those who needed it most, thanks to volunteers from dealerships in Charlotte and Concord, Hendrick Motorsports, our dealerships in Texas and the Hendrick Automotive Group leadership team. From receptionist to general manager, Kristen’s Hendrick journey has been 10 years in the making! Kristen Bowen started as a receptionist at Hendrick MINI in 2008, but she quickly rose through the ranks due to her talent and hard work. After becoming one of the top sales advisors and business manager at Hendrick MINI, she was selected to help open Hendrick Automotive Group’s first Audi dealership, Audi Northlake, as sales manager in 2014. Kristen was recently named general manager of Audi Northlake as the current GM, Jamie Camilo, is further advancing his career as the new leader of Rick Hendrick BMW.
