Intermountain Café proves its ‘not your typical hospital food’ The culinary service team from Intermountain Café at Intermountain Medical Center received the spiciest chili award from the 36th Annual Great Salt Lake Chili Affair. The event raises funds and awareness for The Road Home, an organization which helps individuals step out of homelessness. The team, including two chefs de cuisine, prepared food for 2,000 patrons, which took three full days and included cooking 500 pounds of pork.

We're happy to see several small cities within our footprint on Wallethub's Top 30 small cities with the highest growth list! Wallethub evaluated cities using two core dimensions: sociodemographics (50 points) and jobs and economy (50 points). These dimensions were assessed using 17 metrics, including population growth, growth in share of college-educated population, median household income growth, unemployment rate decrease, increase in number of businesses and median house price growth. You may think of genetic conditions as uncommon. Even well-known conditions such as muscular dystrophy or hemophilia affect relatively few people. While individual genetic conditions such as these are rare, genetic conditions affect approximately one out of every 20 individuals. As a result, more than 900,000 individuals within Intermountain’s service area have a genetic condition or underlying genetic risk to develop a significant health condition.
A southern Utah mom hoped to spend her day celebrating her teenage son’s birthday, but an InstaCare physician assistant believed her headache and vomiting indicated something serious and advised her to postpone her plans and go to the emergency department for a scan. By evening she was receiving surgery to remove a mass from her brain.
