For the fourth consecutive reporting period, Mount Nittany Medical Center has been recognized with a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Five-Star Quality Rating System. This is the highest rating given by the CMS. The average rating nationally is 3 out of 5 stars. Mount Nittany Health also had 5-star ratings in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

On Monday evening, Mount Nittany Health honored the resilience of our employees with a special event "Luminary Reflection: An Evening of Recognition, Remembrance, Gratitude and Hope." Over 1,000 paper luminaries with messages shared by staff and the community were written on the bags.

The Mount Nittany Medical Center welcomes 1,300 babies each year and was recently recognized as one of the best places for maternity by U.S. News and World Report. U.S. News and World Report is a trusted resource that uses world-class data and technology to publish independent rankings. This recognition is based on an analysis of data from 2,700 hospitals across the nation. High-performing hospitals had fewer newborn complications, fewer early deliveries, and fewer C-sections compared with other hospitals. This award comes as Mount Nittany Health prepares for the grand opening of the expanded Joseph V. and Suzanne Paterno Women and Children’s Services Unit this spring.

Each year, employees at Mount Nittany Health usher in the holidays by spreading cheer and supporting local organizations including the The Salvation Army of Centre County, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and the YMCA of Centre County. At a time when community need is at its greatest, this is helping to make the season a little brighter for more than 100 children and 80 local families.
