Changing The Course: Building An Antiracist Education Episode 4: In this episode, we talk with two leaders in the restorative justice field: Terrence Pruitt and Rev. Dr. Robert Spicer. Both Pruitt and Spicer have done extensive work with organizations and school systems across the U.S., including Noble Schools, to help them integrate restorative practices into their spaces. Pruitt and Spicer recently presented at a professional development session for our Culture teams in March. In this episode, they not only talk about what they presented to our teams but delve further into what it means to bring restorative justice into our schools.

An outstanding woman in business in Chicago and a leader committed to achieving educational equity in the city. These are the ways Noble Schools’ CEO, Constance Jones, was recognized by the Chicago Bulls and Fortune Magazine in the last few months. Jones was not only featured in Fortune and Entrepreneur Magazine for her leadership at Noble Schools, but she was also honored as an MLK Legacy Honoree by the Chicago Bulls – an award given to those in the city who “embody the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and demonstrate innovative strategies to address persistent challenges to achieving social justice and equity.”

We’re introducing “Changing the Course: Building An Antiracist Education”, a monthly video podcast series hosted by Nicholas Jones. Jones will be talking with a guest, each coming from different places and roles in our school network, to shed light on our journey of anti-racism from different perspectives. Our hope with this video podcast is that teachers, school staff, and everyone with an investment in education in our country can learn from our successes, our failures, our reflections; and the expertise, knowledge, and life experience of the people in our community.

Teams across all 18 campuses and the Noble Support Team met up to discuss the first 5 months of the school year, develop their skills, and wrap up 2021 together. In the all-staff opening session for this day of PD, our CEO Constance Jones spoke to the struggles our staff have had in the schools with the switch to the Noble Community Pact. She also talked about how leadership will be providing better support. “our students don’t have time to wait, and our students and our staff deserve better. So we keep working, we keep listening to our teachers, our parents, and our students, and we continue to be responsive to the needs of our Noble family.” - Constance Jones
