Getting back to everyday life after surgery takes more than time. It takes the right care and a plan that works. When Sharon began therapy at OSF Rehabilitation in Sycamore, she was recovering from shoulder surgery and facing the early challenges of healing. Her physical therapist, Alex, focused first on pain management and then on restoring her range of motion and strength. Around six to eight weeks into recovery, with the support of her at-home exercises, Sharon began to see meaningful progress as she regained movement and independence. “At OSF, we create goals based on each patient’s needs and work toward helping them return to daily life,” Alex shared. “When care is convenient, patients are more consistent and outcomes improve.” For those putting off therapy, Alex encourages learning about the benefits and making an informed decision based on personal needs. No one is better positioned to speak on health care than the nurses on the front lines. 🩺🏛️ On March 26, select nurses across OSF HealthCare gathered at the State Capitol. Representing their individual facilities, these nurses met with legislators to advocate for vital issues, including 340B protections and nurse licensure compacts. We are incredibly proud of our team for taking their expertise from the bedside to the Senate floor, ensuring the OSF HealthCare voice, and our advocation for patient safety, is heard at the highest levels.
