Dr. Davinder Singh, division chief of plastic surgery and medical director of the Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Care at Phoenix Children’s, was named president of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons (ASCFS) — and is the first women to serve in this position. The passing of the presidential gavel took place at the 2024 American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association annual meeting.

Dr. Davinder Singh, division chief of plastic surgery and medical director of the Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Care at Phoenix Children’s, was named president of the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons (ASCFS) — and is the first women to serve in this position. The passing of the presidential gavel took place at the 2024 American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association annual meeting.
Dr. Ashish Patel was recently promoted to physician-in-chief at Phoenix Children’s. In his new role, Dr. Patel will partner with Dr. Daniel Ostlie, surgeon-in-chief, and Dr. Jared Muenzer, chief physician executive, to lead physician services throughout our health system. Dr. Patel will also oversee several clinical centers, including emergency and diagnostic medicine, our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, aerodigestive and medical subspecialties, as well as hospital medicine, mental/behavioral health and our pediatric practices throughout Arizona.

Gretchen Schwindt, MSN, RN, CPN, director of nursing services, recently celebrated her 20th anniversary at Phoenix Children’s. First a patient with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), now a doctor who treats OI and a mother whose child manages OI. Dr. Pamela Smith, medical director of the Metabolic Bone Disorders and Osteogenesis Imperfecta Program at Phoenix Children’s, was featured in USA Today.
