Dr. Michael Kruer, director of the cerebral palsy and pediatric movement disorders program at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, has dedicated much of his career to advancing research that benefits children with cerebral palsy. He recently received an RO1 grant totaling more than $3 million to study the genetic causes of #cerebralpalsy, which would enable clinicians to personalize patient treatment. This is one of many research projects underway within Phoenix Children’s Research Institute.

Dr. David Bennett, an orthopedic and spine surgeon at Phoenix Children’s, and his colleagues recently co-published a book, “Constructs: A Radiographic Review of Operative Approaches to Pediatric Spinal Deformity.” This book offers orthopedic and neurosurgical examples of various spine deformity constructs, making it a useful reference tool for clinicians.
