Phoenix Children’s has created a new division of anesthesiology and named Dr. Narasimhan “Sim” Jagannathan (right) as our division chief and Dr. Amod Sawardekar (left) as associate division chief. They will lead the expansion of our team of pediatric anesthesiologists, plus expand our research and education initiatives to enhance pediatric care and outcomes.

Phoenix Children’s has formed a new Center for Cleft and Craniofacial Care, bringing together a comprehensive team of pediatric specialists to further enhance patient care, improve care coordination and drive better outcomes. The new center will be led by Dr. Davinder Singh, division chief of plastic surgery at Phoenix Children’s. Dr. Singh is supported by co-directors Dr. Patricia Beals, craniofacial orthodontist; and Kelly Cordero, a speech-language pathologist.

Established by Dr. Wayne Franklin and led by Dr. Jordan Awerbach, our accredited ACHD treatment program is committed to ensuring that children with CHD receive the best quality of care throughout their life.

Meyer, president & CEO of Phoenix Children’s, recently presented our clinical manager of perioperative services, Martina Lisi, RN, MHA, MBA, with a “Mission Moment” award for all she does to advance hope, healing and the best healthcare for children and their families. She was recognized for recently going above and beyond for a surgical patient who needed emergent care. Martina's 17 years of nursing experience, plus heartfelt compassion and critical thinking skills, not only helped this baby but also lead to much-needed services for the baby’s family.

Clinical team members of Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s join the Miles For Migraine Walk, Run or Relax event every year to raise awareness and support for migraine and headache research. All funds raised will benefit local migraine and headache research and fellowship training programs, including those at Phoenix Children’s.
