The Arizona Perinatal Trust was onsite at Phoenix Children's for its triennial NICU survey and re-verified our NICU as a Level 3 nursery for the next three years. Level 3 NICUs provide hospital services for all newborns requiring subspecialty and intensive care at all gestational ages. Led by Dr. Deborah Tom, Kathleen Moore, Kristin Niehoff and Barb Harvey, the Arizona Perinatal Trust surveyors were very complimentary of the unit. Many special accolades were given, including the team's quality and safety focus around rounding and team conferences, nursing education, discharge education, use of breast milk and lactation awards received in the past three years.
