Collaboration and innovation took centre stage at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M. where we presented two commemorative plaques to mark significant milestones in our partnerships with leading shipyards. Palumbo SuperYachts was awarded a plaque celebrating our long-standing partnership over the years. This moment was made even more special as it coincided with the formalisation of the construction supervision contract for their impressive new 100-metre flagship yacht - a project that further strengthens our long collaboration. Benetti Yachts received the RINA Maxima statement for a pioneering project that utilised 3D technology for design approval. The designer collaborated with our Plan Approval department using 3D files, enabling a faster verification process and eliminating the need for traditional 2D drawings. Compliance checks were carried out directly on board through digital tools, allowing surveyors to perform inspections efficiently and in full alignment with the design. As we celebrate these achievements, we’re also looking ahead 🛥️ #GrowWithRINA

In the framework of the LIAISON EU PROJECT, we took a significant step forward in smart infrastructure development. At the ACCIONA Construction Technology Center in Madrid, together with École nationale des ponts et chaussées and TECNALIA Research & Innovation our team implemented an FBG-based monitoring system directly embedded within a reinforced concrete beam. Before casting, sensors were strategically positioned inside the mould to enable performance monitoring throughout the beam’s entire lifecycle at the project's demo site in Poland. The successful survival of the sensors during concrete pouring confirms the system’s robustness and opens the way for real-time, long-term structural health monitoring. This activity is part of the broader effort to design an optimized smart beam - a prefabricated structural element developed with robotic technologies, complex formworks, and integrated sensors. The aim: to reduce material use and environmental impact while improving quality control. Pioneering solutions like this one demonstrate how digitalization and advanced engineering can redefine how we design, build, and manage infrastructure. #GrowWithRINA

Congratulations to the Oarsome Army Educators, who have passed the finish line and completed the "World’s Toughest Row" - about 3,000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua - in 44 days, 6 hours and 38 minutes! They not only took on the physical and mental challenges of one of the toughest rowing races in the world, but also raised awareness for the incredible work of the Adjutant General’s Corps Educational and Training Services Branch and supported the Army Benevolent Fund. In partnership with PSR - Energy Consulting and Analytics, we were selected and contracted by the World Bank to conduct a strategic decarbonization consultancy for the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP) in Ceará, Brazil. We will support decarbonization and sustainability through several actions, including surveying companies, evaluating current and future energy balance for efficiency and renewable integration, and conducting a greenhouse gas emissions inventory. We will assess decarbonization technologies, identify implementation barriers, and explore solutions for improved energy efficiency. Additionally, we will study the water balance at CIPP, with projections for water availability in Ceará, and analyze decarbonization scenarios to recommend the best pathways for reducing emissions and financial impacts. We are committed to supporting sustainable development in the region by promoting practices that minimize environmental impacts and enhance energy efficiency 🌎 #GrowWithRINA

This past week we celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday in some of our RINA offices in the US. This was a great opportunity for us to all get together in the office for a big lunch to recognize the holiday. Our Florida and Houston offices were decorated to celebrate with Thanksgiving themed decorations throughout the lunchroom, offices, and the entrance way to help bring the spirit of the holiday to work. Across the offices, colleagues participated in Thanksgiving Potluck Lunches to celebrate this holiday together. Colleagues brought a dish that they would like to share with everyone which always incorporates foods from many cultures. As colleagues shared their culinary creations and the stories behind them, it was evident that the gatherings were about more than just food—it was about deepening connections and celebrating our diverse backgrounds. We took a moment to reflect on our achievements and express gratitude for each other’s hard work and dedication.
