Recently, Chicago’s Young Professional Group had the pleasure of seeing how one of our projects comes to life during a tour of the Evanston Main Street Improvement Project, which aims to enhance the public space and infrastructure in the area. The group got to explore the City of Evanston, Illinois, while learning about the design process and hard work put in: - coordinating with local businesses to ensure their needs are met; - acquiring Right-of-Way Easements, essentials to use public or private land for the project; - coming up with innovative solutions to ensure ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility while working around existing structures and geometry. Thanks to our Michael Dumas, P.E. and Adam Newman for leading this tour for young professionals. #GrowWithRINA

This year we sponsor Blue Devil Mechanics, FIRST Robotics Competition team at Dreher High School in Columbia, South Carolina. FRC is a global contest that immerses high school students in the world of engineering. It aims to engage young people in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to inspire the next generation of innovator. A competition in which teams of students raise funds, hone teamwork skills, and construct and program industrial-sized robots to accomplish goals. We are supporting Blue Devil Mechanics' competition season and their educational outreach activities in the community. Our Erica P. is also coaching the team on the robot's Java codebase for its autonomous and remote operation modes. #GrowWithRINA

Last month, we held a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training for some colleagues in our Brazil offices. This was a 2 part, virtual event with about 100 RINA participants. We partnered with a local Brazil based vendor, Yluminarh, to deliver the training in Portuguese. The training was highly rated among participants in a post event survey and encouraged RINA Brazil to continue discussions on DEI topics. We look forward to continuing these discussions across all of RINA and ensuring every employees unique differences are valued to foster an inclusive work environment. #GrowWithRINA

Over the past decades, the global community has made a lot of effort in ensuring full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. As we are committed to increasing the number of female colleagues in STEM disciplines, today we celebrate the International Day of Women In Science. As values such as diversity and inclusion are part of our identity, we have always believed in Women in STEM and their empowerment.
