Last week, the Parkinson’s Foundation stopped by our Support Center to share some of the work they’re doing to improve the lives of individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and to promote their upcoming Moving Day on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Moving Day is an inspiring and empowering annual fundraising walk event that unites people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD), their care partners, and loved ones to help beat PD. Together with FirstFruits Farms LLC, we donated 22,660 lbs. of fresh apples to Yolo Food Bank. The apples were shared at a local school distribution site as part of the “Take a Bite Out of Hunger” program. We are so proud to partner with FirstFruits Farms to directly impact families and provide fresh and delicious apples to those in need throughout Yolo County.

Last weekend, we had over 60 team members and their families (along with 5 dogs!) walk in the shoes of our neighbors in need as Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission held their 14th Annual "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" on Saturday. This walk raises awareness and gives perspective on what people experiencing homelessness endure daily during cold winter months, with over 500 people marching from 1st and Arlington to downtown Mission on 4th and Record.

Customer Service Team Lead, Debbie, has a very compassionate heart and started an annual coat drive in 2017 for the Children’s Cabinet at Raley’s in Sparks, NV. She transferred to our other Sparks store this year but kept the tradition alive - just with two stores now! We are grateful for the community support that rallies around this effort every year and the difference they make in the lives of children in our community.

Last week, we volunteered at the first-ever @SalArmyDelOro “Angel Tree” Corporate Volunteer Night at Cal Expo. Raley’s volunteers helped to organize Angel Tree toys, sort coats, and pack food boxes to help ensure that more children and families get to experience the joy of Christmas morning.

Raley’s Food For Families is teaming up with ABC 10 for this year’s Stand Against Hunger campaign to alleviate hunger in our communities this holiday season. On Tuesday, ABC 10 competed in a bagging competition against KAT Country Radio at our Lodi Store to help raise money to feed those in need.

Last week, alongside our proud partners, the Sacramento Kings, we held the annual Eat Like a King event, a harvest festival-themed feast at Golden 1 Center. Kings players and coaches served dinner and ate with over 200 youth and their families from 27 nonprofits supporting underserved areas of Sacramento. We’re honored to partner with the Sacramento Kings to create memorable experiences and provide nutritious meals for families across our region.
