Rimkus Technology Spotlight: The use of solar panels to provide energy to structures is more prevalent than ever, but what happens when they fail or are damaged? Rimkus consultants can use electroluminescent (EL) cameras to visually assess damage to solar panels that can't be seen by the naked eye. This technology allows our experts to visually see defects related to micro-cracking, cell breakage, debris, and improper soldering and manufacturing. Consultants also use EL testing to assist with evaluating the full scope of damage to solar panels, determining cause and origin of defects, and possibly prevent future damage.

Last month, Rimkus opened a second UK office in Bristol. Bristol's rich engineering history makes it a perfect location for a Rimkus forensic engineering office. The city was home to Isambard Kingdom Brunel, a forward-thinking pioneer of mechanical and civil engineering known for his work on the construction and design of projects including the SS Great Britain, the Bristol suspension bridge and what is now the Great Western Railway line linking London to Bristol. Bristol's history, combined with its thriving insurance and legal market, makes it an epicenter of industry activity and a perfect place for Rimkus UK to provide further support to the South West of England and South Wales. We provide legal and insurance professionals with forensic engineering expertise and technical consulting services spanning multiple industries.
