Rimkus consultants utilize Matterport 3D scanning technology to quickly produce high-resolution renderings of accident sites and loss locations. Matterport cameras can take hundreds of photos and stitch them together to produce highly detailed visual aids useful in origin and cause inspections and the courtroom. Take a look around the garage of this fire-damaged home to see how this technology allows Rimkus Fire Consultants to revisit and assess the damage once they’ve left the scene. Once you’ve opened the scan, click the green MatterTag to begin.

Today Rimkus recognizes the efforts of Michael Powell, District Manager, Daniel Barton, Principal Consultant, Jordan Fox, Consultant, and Mike Carnicom, Evidence Coordinator. After noting the need for extra hands during roof inspections, these four members of our Rimkus Tampa team invented a device that facilitates solo roof tile lift testing/documentation. The device is currently patent pending and in the process of being deployed throughout the state of Florida (and eventually beyond). The device has been modeled in 3D by a member of our Visual Media and Technology Division. This team works closely with our other technical divisions to provide highly detailed visual aids, such as 3D models, videos, animations, and more, to help clients and juries better understand complex matters.
While most of us are working from home to stop the spread of the virus, we know that some essential trips outside of the house may be unavoidable. Under the guidance of our Director of Corporate Safety, several members of Team Rimkus are supporting their co-workers by sewing and donating face masks. We’ve heard from Rimkus employees across the company who are contributing homemade masks to their team members. This not only helps to reserve critical PPE for healthcare workers, but also exemplifies the collaborative and supportive company culture we strive to embody daily. Rimkus Graphic Artist Brendan Keane and his wife, Juliana, bought an inexpensive sewing machine to facilitate the mask-making process. Together, they’ve sewn and donated more than 20 face masks for use by other members of our Houston and Corporate teams. Visit our LinkedIn page today to check out a video of them in action!
