Throughout the month of July and leading up to National Intern Day, we'll be celebrating our summer co-ops and interns as they gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. Be sure to follow along on our stories to see what a day in their life is like. We'll also be sharing stories of current team members who launched their construction careers in this program. Finally, be sure to check out our video series featuring several of our interns from last summer as they highlight the valuable experiences they had and what separates Robins & Morton in our field. Let's start with current field engineer and former intern Grant Johnson, who enjoyed his time getting to know his project team members. #NationalInternDay

It's summertime and that means construction camps are in full swing. Our team members spent some time at Auburn University's Construction Management Summer Academy Camp for Young Women, hosted by the Auburn University McWhorter School of Building Science. We helped rising high school juniors and seniors with a hands-on project at the Robins & Morton Construction Field Lab. Campers spent the day building dog houses, which will be donated to a local humane society. We're thrilled to see these young women exploring diverse career opportunities in our industry!

Our Charlotte team was proud to support an end-of-year banquet to celebrate students who participated in this year's ACE Mentor Program of Charlotte. Several schools were represented, and each group of students presented their semester's work on a request for proposal, with the theme "upcycled architecture." The students worked diligently to design and present their plans for the adaptive reuse of a building in East Charlotte. Assistant Preconstruction Estimator Rob Grady was the lead mentor for 10 students at Myers Park High School, and the group won the award for Best Architecture. Rob also had the privilege of presenting one of ACE Charlotte’s scholarships to Myers Park student Addison Reynolds, who will be pursuing an architectural degree from Auburn University. Congratulations to all of these students! We look forward to continuing to mentor the next generation of industry professionals in our community. #GivingWithPurpose

Our Cone Health MedCenter team in Asheboro, North Carolina, recently spent time at Kopper Top Life Learning Center, helping repair multiple fences to keep their beautiful horses in their correct pasture. The center provides inclusive therapy services to children and adults in our community. Our team enjoyed working so close to the animals and bringing a smile to everyone at the center. #GivingWithPurpose

Our Charlotte team partnered with architectural firm Hord Coplan Macht for AIA Charlotte: CANstruction 2024, an initiative to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHMETROLINA). The design implemented key themes from Charlotte sports: a soccer ball, basketball, football, and the iconic Charlotte crown. Our team members built several intricate platforms to support a variety of canned food items and execute the eye-catching design. #GivingWithPurpose

It's showtime! Our Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Crystal Spring Tower project team found a unique way to support their community in the fight against cancer. They hosted their first-ever Building A Cure, a benefit that included a talent show, silent auction, and a special guest musical performance by the Jared Stout Band. Robins & Morton team members, contractor partners, family, and friends came together for an exciting evening and raised $53,000 for the upcoming Carilion Cancer Center project. The project will increase access to specialized care in our community. We'd like to give a special thank you to Mark Pace, owner of our sitework partner E.C. Pace Company, for helping our team bring this idea to life. Thank you as well to our general contractor partner Branch Builds for their support and planning efforts. We're looking forward to next year's show! #GivingWithPurpose
