SCS Engineers Expands Phoenix Office to Meet Environmental Consulting Demand April 11, 2018 Economically sustainable environmental solutions are especially strategic for businesses considering new initiatives and approaches to managing our waste streams and the influx of new technology on environmental solutions. Phoenix, AZ– SCS Engineers is expanding the firm’s Phoenix, Arizona office to meet the growing demand for regional environmental consulting and engineering business and technical solutions. The most recent hires include Jesse Riddle, a senior landfill gas technician, and Norma Meza, handling the office’s regional outreach. Jesse Riddle, SCS Engineers, Phoenix Riddle provides clients with landfill gas monitoring and other related environmental monitoring services, helping them reduce operational costs. He also oversees landfill gas construction projects providing CQA expertise. He previously served as the landfill gas construction foreman for a large public solid waste services company for ten years.
SCS Engineers’ David Hostetter, PE, LEED AP, CEM, Receives SAME Young Civilian Award January 18, 2018 Dave Hostetter of SCS Engineers recognized by the Society of Military Engineers for his outstanding contributions by a young civilian. Washington, DC –The Washington D.C. Post of the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) Board of Directors selected David Hostetter of SCS Engineers to receive a prestigious award. SAME recognized him for Outstanding Contributions by a Young Civilian Member at a ceremony on January 18, 2018, at the National Press Club. Hostetter says he focuses on three things in his work: using his engineering skills to make a difference in the world, serving his clients wholeheartedly, and mentoring other young professionals as he was mentored.
SCS Engineers recently named Eduardo Smith as the Senior Vice President of Client Success, a Corporate position within the firm. SCS President Jim Walsh announced the promotion which became effective on January 1, 2018. Eddy, as he is known by the firm’s patrons now leads SCS’s nationwide Client Success Program. SCS is known for their focus on serving clients while delivering sustainable, technical solutions. With this Program, SCS intends to take the client experience to the next level. The Program safeguards that all SCS employees take a proactive role in identifying and serving the needs of their clients as the firm continues to grow. According to Smith, “It is not enough to deliver quality technical solutions. Bob Gardner, P.E., BCEE of SCS Engineers Elected Vice-Chairman of EREF Research Council November 27, 2017 The EREF, a highly regarded foundation working independently of trade associations, funds the development of new approaches to managing municipal solid waste and provides scholarships to America’s brightest and best. Bob Gardner, Sr. Vice President SCS Engineers RESTON, VA – University of Virginia alumni Bob Gardner (‘79 BSCE, ‘80 MECE) was elected Vice-chairman of the Environmental Research & Education Foundation’s (EREF) Research Council in November 2017. The EREF Research Council provides technical expertise and guidance to the EREF Board of Directors supporting the selection of grant funding allocations that will achieve greater sustainability, sound environmental stewardship, higher efficiency, and increases knowledge within the industry. The Council also provides ongoing project review and assessment of completed projects. During the same week,

The local SCS Engineers staff participated in United Way’s Seasons of Caring Community Kickoff. It was a “power hour” of volunteering at the Mallards Duck Pond. The event brought together more than 750 people from across the Madison community to help community members in need. SCSers labeled and stuffed emergency medical information packets that are delivered to the elderly and homebound to help them get quick access to medical support when they are in need. Brian Meister’s team held the night’s record stuffing 2,000 informational packets in one hour with SCSers Chris Jimieson and Sherren Clark pacing them.
