In a letter of recognition to SMS, the Cisco Channel Certification Team stated, “SMS has again met all requirements for achieving Cisco Gold Certification, including personnel, support and specialization.” Cisco further stated, “Your company has continued to demonstrate that it is qualified to sell, install, and support Cisco solutions in the USA.”
SMS has achieved ISO/IEC 20000-1:2011 recertification. This certification describes an integrated set of management processes, which form a service management system for the effective delivery of services to its customers and employees. ISO/IEC 20000 is aligned with and complementary to the process approach defined within ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library). To achieve this recertification, SMS demonstrated that its IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, policies, and metrics adhere to the ISO 20000 standard and effectively support the service management system. An independent, accredited auditor representative from SAI-Global conducted the audit.
SMS is honored to be a Top Workplace winner by The Washington Post for a fourth consecutive year, ranking ninth among 55 other mid-sized companies in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. The Washington Post ranks large, mid-size and small businesses based on an employee satisfaction survey conducted by Energage. SMS announced Feb 2019, it was awarded the US Air Forces’ Engineering and Installation of Communications-Computer Systems (EICCS) Task Order under the NETCENTS-2, NetOps and Infrastructure Solutions Small Business Contract. The $3.4M task order has a base of one-year with an optional four-year extension. Supporting the 668th Alteration and Installation Squadron (ALIS), SMS will survey, engineer, design, install, test, enhance, and upgrade passive infrastructure at several areas in the San Antonio, TX area and potential projects inside the contiguous United States (CONUS) and outside the contiguous United States (OCONUS). SMS will provide the staffing and surge capability to meet evolving requirements and maintain mission continuity for the USAF and its intra-agency clients encompassing technology (IT) services worldwide. “Winning this EICCS Task Order is significant and we are thrilled to renew our commitment to serving our USAF customers with innovative, reliable, and high quality infrastructure solutions,” said Ted Crowley, Business Development Director.
SMS Announces Matthew Rosecan as President March 14, 2019 – SMS announced today it has named Matthew Rosecan as its new President. Mr. Rosecan has been with SMS for over 15 years and brings an extensive and diverse background to this new role. He began with SMS in human resources, recruiting, and quality management, and then transitioned into business development with a focus on technology sales as well as operations. During his tenure, Matthew has helped advance the company’s business strategy and has led strong teams into new Federal Civilian accounts. He earned his undergraduate degree at NYU and is currently finishing his MBA at George Washington University. “Over the past 15 years, Matthew has built an impressive track record of strategic partnerships and has numerous operational and sales accomplishments,” said Bert Rosecan, SMS’s Chief Executive Officer. “He has proven to be a successful and trusted leader and brings to this position a strong reputation for developing people and inspiring teams. SMS is proud to announce our award of the US Air Force’s (USAF) Cyber Operations Network Engineering Support (CONES) Task Order (TO) under the NETCENTS-2, NetOps and Infrastructure Solutions Small Business contract. The firm fixed priced, $43 million, four and a half year TO was awarded from the Air Force’s Life Cycle Management Center Cyber Sustainment Branch. SMS will provide subject matter expertise (SME) at 8 Air Force locations providing global support for the Air Force Information Network (AFIN). “This win illustrates the continuing confidence that the USAF has in SMS and our constant commitment to hard work as well as our ability to anticipate and quickly react to information technology challenges by delivering transformational solutions to our customers," said Luis Laranjeira, SMS’ Executive Vice President for Business Development.
