IREC’s 13th annual National Solar Jobs Census is out! The report finds that solar jobs grew in 42 states and Puerto Rico in 2022. The state with the most jobs added by far was California (2,404 jobs), followed by New York (988 jobs), Texas (904 jobs), Florida (506 jobs) and Massachusetts (476 jobs). There are almost 264,000 solar workers in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico—an increase of 8,846 jobs since 2021. The installations range from a 40 kW rooftop project to greater than 2 MW ground mounts in five states coast to coast. This past week we raised flags to celebrate safety leadership at three SOLV Energy jobsites. Clearway Energy Group's Arica and Victory Pass and Intersect Power's Oberon 1 & 2 became the first solar projects to be recognized as Cal/OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) sites. With an upbringing in the Northeast and then later the Southeast, Senior Stormwater Compliance Coordinator, Isabelle Musmanno was introduced to many different beliefs and values. One belief remained the same, in that her cultural heritage influences her "reverence for family time and passion for all things artistic and delicious."
