Sanford Health is building on its investment in Western South Dakota with a new state-of-the-art medical center campus in Rapid City to expand access to specialty care and services. The 480,000 square-foot campus will feature 168 inpatient beds, with space for an additional 168 beds. “Denny Sanford has once again made a transformational investment,” Sanford Health President and CEO Bill Gassen said during a community announcement in downtown Rapid City. “His newest landmark gift of $300 million will help Sanford Black Hills Medical campus come to life right here in Rapid City.”

We're excited to announce our recognition as one of America's Best Employers for Veterans by Forbes. This is the second year we've received this prestigious award for our commitment to being a strong veteran-and-military friendly workplace. Recognition is based on feedback from U.S. veterans, evaluating a variety of work related topics and veteran-specific support. This is a testament to our work to provide veterans with opportunities. We invest in programs aimed at hiring veterans and military spouses. Veterans can continue their service to others through transitioning to a meaningful civilian career with us. Part of our work includes giving back to our veterans, military members and their families in meaningful ways through the care, programs and services we offer.

Last fall, Sanford Health partnered with Daily Pay to offer its employees an option for early access to their earnings. Employees interested in Daily Pay can download the DailyPay app and create an account. From there, they can specify if they want their money instantly or delivered to their bank account the next day. Enrolling in Daily Pay means that all your paychecks will go to Daily Pay, and that is how your earnings will be deposited into your account on payday. It will not show up as a Sanford Health deposit. The Daily Pay payday and Sanford Health payday are the same. If you do not have a checking account with a third-party bank, Daily Pay can act as your bank. They have debit cards available for users who enroll. Since implementing Daily Pay in October of 2022, Sanford Health has already transferred over 12 million dollars to its employees through the early access features within Daily Pay. We are constantly feeding information over to Daily Pay (typically 4 times a day), so Daily Pay is always up to date on how much money you can request early from your normal paycheck. If you work a morning shift and are hourly, you may be able to request those funds by the afternoon! Partnering with Daily Pay gives us the opportunity to create flexibility for our employees, and that is a priority here at Sanford Health. To apply, please click the image below.

Last fall, we launched a Benefit Comparison Tool called Ask Alex. It is available to every employee year-round, and it not only shows what we offer, but it defines some benefit-specific terms. To help you get an idea of what health plan or benefit options are best for you, Ask Alex will ask a series of personalized questions about what you value and need in terms of healthcare for you and your family. The whole interaction takes a little under 20 minutes to complete. The purpose of the Ask Alex Benefit Counselor stemmed from us wanting “to offer some type of benefits education that is tailored to our organization,” said Becky Gerberding, Sr. Total Rewards Analyst at Sanford Health. “When employees sign up for benefits, they are signing up for what they need, and it’s important to understand what they’re getting.” At the end of the comparison tool, there is a recommendations page that summarizes everything Ask Alex showed you and recommended. The page is printable, so you can always reference it during benefit enrollment. To visit our Careers page, please click the image below.

After 25 years in the Air Force, with most of that time spent recruiting, Sanford Health’s Manager of Talent Acquisition, Jon Goehring, retired from the service. Shortly after, he began his walk with Sanford as a Talent Advisor. Three short years later, he was promoted all the way to the Manager he is now! Any inspired, motivated individual might ask how? How does Sanford Health build up its employees like that? Jon said, “Everything we do in Talent Acquisition is meaningful work.” He thrives on helping the organization to be successful, which in turn helps the people we hire to be successful. One piece of advice that Jon learned from the military was to “volunteer for everything,” and that is exactly what he did. For those starting out in their career, or for those who want to grow, Jon recommends that we treat each day like an interview. “No matter who you interact with, every single day is an interview. If you’re performing at your best every day, then that’s how people will view you.” At Sanford Health, we foster and encourage your passion for the meaningful work you do.
