Silverado Hospice Announces New National Appointment
Earlier this year, the Los Angeles District Attorney filed a set of egregious charges against Silverado that carried great ramifications for both us and senior living communities at-large. Today we are pleased to announce that a judge dismissed all charges before even getting to trial. This decision honors our team members who fought courageously and tirelessly to protect those entrusted to their care during the biggest health crisis of our lifetimes. This important decision is one that impacts the entire industry. We encourage you to visit our website to read more about it and we thank you for your support throughout it all. Our team looks forward to focusing 100% on what we do best – changing lives!
The Silverado Home Office supports our hospice branches and memory care communities so that the local associates can focus on what they do best – caring for our patients, residents and families! But whenever they get a chance, Silverado Home Office associates jump at the chance to get out and spend time at our locations. Recently just such a group of associates spent a few hours at the Silverado Newport Mesa community, helping beautify the grounds with tasks such as painting and gardening. And no volunteer trip to a community is complete without spending some time with the residents!

Happy Healthcare Foodservice Workers Week to all of the culinary professionals who work so hard to provide delicious, nutritious meals to those who most need it! The emphasis on food as a source of both nutrition and enjoyment is at the heart of our culinary philosophy, and something our teams strive for every day at every meal – breakfast, lunch, dinner and all of the snacks in between. One great example of this philosophy is Chef Dewey Gaither from our Southlake community in Texas, who recently won a regional Assisted Living Top Chef contest. Nexus residents from Silverado Brea recently visited our Home Office for a fun joint activity with a group of associates. Everyone worked together to make handmade blankets for the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). It was a fun time for all, and for the residents, it was an activity with proven brain health benefits! Purposeful social activities, one of the pillars of Nexus at Silverado, give residents a sense of fulfillment. Volunteering activities like this one are thoughtfully integrated into residents' daily programming, promoting a brain-healthy and active lifestyle.
