Around the world and at Skyward Specialty, June is recognized as LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) Pride Month to commemorate a tipping point in history – the Stonewall Uprising, which lasted 6 days in Manhattan in June 1969 as police clashed with LGBTQ protesters. Pride Month is for everyone to embrace who they are and let the world know — in style! The rainbow aptly signifies the diversity of the movement as well as the colorful activities this month-long celebration. While many events this month emphasize fun, it's also the perfect time to think about and discuss issues related to the gay rights movement -- from gay marriage and adoption to transgender rights. Although huge strides have been made for equality over recent years, we all still have a long way to go. Pride Month is a great opportunity to learn about the fight for what's right. So take time this month to expand your understanding --- have a conversation, read a book from an LGBTQ author or listen to a topical podcast – and join in the celebration.

Skyward Specialty Insurance showcases its nimbleness and creativity with its latest business launch – Allied Health, which started writing business in late April. Due to the fantastic teamwork between our Healthcare business leader, Brenda Craig, and our product development, reinsurance and technology service teams, we were up and running in just four months!
