Russell began his career as a police officer and since has held a wide array of positions. His roles have included Top Security Clearance Government Officer, Field Training Officer certified in Law Enforcement Support, and Regional Operations Manager in Malaysia. As a Sunstates Operations Manager, Russell is responsible for the direct supervision, coordination, and management of team members at client sites within his portfolio. He is a regular presence on sites, serving as a resource for the officers and the client and ensuring contract compliance and quality control. He brings his expertise and attentiveness from his years of experience working in the security field to his team. Initially joining the Sunstates Security team in 2020 as a Site Supervisor for a high-end commercial real estate client, Lashawn was promoted to Operations Manager in May 2021. In his previous role, he performed complex supervisory functions across various properties, including staffing, training, and mentoring security teams, ensuring daily performance and compliance, and interacting directly with client management to provide ongoing service quality and satisfaction. As Operations Manager, he will continue with similar management responsibilities across a portfolio of multiple client properties, as well as meet regularly with all client contacts and perform multiple monthly site inspections. Lashawn’s diverse professional experience includes both the military and private sectors and spans numerous critical infrastructure service sectors, including manufacturing, finance, and telecommunications. Beginning his career in the military, he served six years in the United States Air Force as a Director of Training & Analysis.
