We are celebrating an incredible partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware, who welcomed NFJP Youth participant Cesar for his first professional experience! After earning his forklift certification and preparing for college, Cesar is gaining hands-on skills in a supportive warehouse environment, thanks to the Food Bank’s generosity. This opportunity empowers Cesar with confidence, flexible employment, and the values of community and teamwork. The Food Bank of Delaware is more than a place to get food, it’s a beacon of hope, offering organized packing spaces, a welcoming café, thriving vegetable crops, and a dignified community store for those facing food insecurity. Their dedicated staff work alongside churches and nonprofits to fight hunger and uplift lives across the state. We’re proud to be part of this compassionate collaboration. Workforce & Career Services in Action! At Telamon | TRC, we’re committed to linking youth and adults with education, training, and career pathways that lead to better jobs, and brighter futures. Our Workforce & Career Services team recently represented us at the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) Business Academy, where Smith, Flor, Jesus, Cheryl, and Jane connected with leaders in the field, shared insights, and strengthened strategies to empower the communities we serve. Telamon provides workforce training in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia, helping individuals build the skills and confidence they need to thrive in today’s economy.
Full-Circle Success Story Meet Freddy, once a participant in Telamon | TRC’s programs, now a certified auto mechanic and proud owner of Freddy Auto Service in Harrisonburg, VA. His journey is a powerful testament to resilience, opportunity, and growth. Today, Freddy is paying it forward by mentoring Jesus, a current National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) participant, through a Work Experience (WEX) placement in his shop. Parker came to Telamon | TRC with limited experience, working only on his family’s small farm. After being referred by Eastern WV Career and Technical Center, he discovered a passion for truck driving and set a goal: earn his Class A CDL. With no financial aid available elsewhere, Telamon stepped in to cover his training. Parker completed the program and is now working full-time for Southern West Virginia Asphalt, Inc., earning a great wage and access to benefits, a major step toward financial independence. He’s also saving money on his farm by hauling his own products. Parker’s journey proves that with the right support, determination can drive real change.
