On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, our Telamon Tennessee team, families and CEO proudly joined the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) community on Capitol Hill to elevate the voices of families who work in agriculture. We stood alongside MSHS leaders, educators, parents, alumni, and fellow advocates to remind lawmakers that MSHS is more than a program, it’s a critical support system for the people who keep our nation fed. We would like to thank MSHS for organizing this powerful day of advocacy. Together, we’re pushing for a stronger future for children and families.
Big thanks to the Telamon West Virgina Team and all the amazing volunteers who brought the “Fair Housing Should Be a Walk in the Park” event to life! From hauling seven mini playhouses to the park and hanging banners, to setting up games and grilling hotdogs, this team made the event fun, welcoming, and impactful. Attendees not only enjoyed a beautiful day at the park, but also learned about the importance of Fair Housing in a hands-on, engaging way. As Aly shared, “It was so amazing to see the volunteers feel fulfilled through giving back to the community and learn about Fair Housing!”

It was a day of learning, support, and community connection, helping families take the next step toward a healthier, brighter future. Here's to 60 years of empowering families and creating pathways to success!
On Thursday, March 13, 2025 our Indiana team had the privilege of participating in the Anderson Career Center & Anderson High School Annual College and Career Fair! With over 50 vendors and approximately 300 attendees, it was an incredible event that provided local businesses with the opportunity to increase visibility, connect with potential customers, and recruit new employees. The students were highly engaged, with incentives like prizes, giveaways, and food encouraging them to connect with vendors. A special shoutout to the local 8th graders, who conducted insightful interviews with vendors, asking meaningful questions about companies and industries! It's events like these that help students explore exciting career paths while strengthening our local business community. Here's to many more opportunities like this in the future!
Meet Jane, a true example of dedication and growth! Starting with Telamon in 2009 as a part-time Intake Clerk, Jane’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Over the years, she has shown unwavering commitment to farmworkers and their families, from enrolling eligible participants in programs to managing office operations and assisting with the food pantry. Through continuous professional development, earning certifications, and completing her associate and bachelor’s degrees, Jane’s passion for service led to her promotion as Workforce Development Specialist in 2016. By 2021, she became the Program Manager for Virginia and West Virginia, where she continues to lead with compassion, guiding her team, and advocating for meaningful change. In 2024, Jane's exceptional leadership earned her a seat on the AFOP Board of Directors, representing Telamon|TRC and West Virginia. We are incredibly proud of her journey and the positive impact she continues to make.
Celebrating 60 Years of Impact and Empowerment! This year, 2025, marks a special milestone for Telamon | TRC as we celebrate 60 years of service to our community! Founded in 1965 as "The Migrant Project" by the North Carolina Council of Churches, our journey initially began with a powerful mission to support migrant farm workers. Thanks to a pivotal grant that was awarded 60 years ago today and the unwavering dedication by employees in those early years, our work expanded and evolved over time to encompass multiple states and focus areas. Today, we stand as a testament to the enduring power of our mission that began six decades ago. 60 years later, our mission remains the same: to disrupt the cycle of poverty by empowering families to overcome barriers to success. Whether through education, career skills, financial management, or housing support, our commitment to providing pathways to self-sufficiency is stronger than ever. Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the years. We're excited to continue this journey with you and create lasting change for future generations. Here's to the next 60 years of making a difference!
