David Richardson Trauma Center are recognizing a Central High School student for going above and beyond with the first of its kind Award for Outstanding Service in Trauma Response. Jocelyn Vasquez, a graduating senior, exemplified exceptional character and empathy while shadowing at UofL Hospital during the challenging day on April 10, 2023 when an active shooter opened fire at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville.

UofL Health is increasing access to comprehensive cancer care in south, central and western Kentucky. The new regional cancer center and Center for Rural Cancer Education and Research in Bullitt County will have 20 infusion rooms, five exam rooms, oncology pharmacy and a diagnostic imaging suite.

At the UofL Health – Trager Transplant Center, patients receiving an organ transplant and patients donating organs work with a multidisciplinary team. This team includes surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, infectious disease specialists, researchers, rehabilitation consultants, dieticians, psychiatrists, pharmacists, financial coordinators and social workers.
