Dr. Michael Egger, surgical oncologist with UofL Health — Brown Cancer Center, is one of the principal investigators on a clinical trial that just released its data at the 21st International Congress of the Society for Melanoma Research. The study of a gene profiling test helps identify whether melanoma patients are at high risk or low risk of lymph node metastases. The test may be used to help patients and their surgeons decide whether to undergo a sentinel lymph node biopsy when they are diagnosed with melanoma. The Brown Cancer Center was among the highest enrolling centers in the study.
